Riverside deserves leaders who are accountable, a city economy that works for everyone, and citizens willing to do their part to make it happen.

The Raincross Group is a nonpartisan civic organization of community leaders, professionals, and engaged residents committed to improving the quality of life and economic vitality of Riverside, California.

We bring together an eclectic range of perspectives and expertise — united not by politics, but by a shared belief in what this city can become. Through candidate forums, advocacy on quality-of-life issues, and the cultivation of civic leaders at every level, we work quietly but consistently to make Riverside a destination city.

Our strength is our members: well-connected, widely respected, and motivated by nothing other than love for this community. We actively seek perspectives from across Riverside's neighborhoods, industries, and generations — because the city we're building together belongs to all of us.

Why We Exist

Riverside has everything it needs to be extraordinary. World-class universities, deep civic roots, a growing arts and innovation culture — and yet too many people still pause when they hear the city's name. The Raincross Group exists to change that, one decision, one leader, and one initiative at a time.

Great things happen when the right people are in the room. Not a partisan room, not a political one — just a room full of people who care enough to show up, engage the hard questions, and then go do something about them. Our members don't just talk about Riverside's challenges; they help city leaders tackle them with ideas, accountability, and active support.

Leadership isn't about a title. It's about showing up for your community — whether that means joining a city committee, running for office, or simply making your voice heard on the issues that matter. The Raincross Group exists to identify, encourage, and amplify that kind of leadership at every level of civic life in Riverside.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed it is the only things that ever has.”

—Margaret Mead

Curent Priorities

Economic Development

Riverside has the assets — world-class universities, a growing arts scene, strategic location, and an entrepreneurial spirit — but potential alone doesn't build a city. Our Economic Development work focuses on the policies, planning, and leadership decisions that turn Riverside's promise into prosperity. We monitor economic development initiatives, advocate for smart growth strategies, and push for the kind of accountable decision-making that keeps jobs, talent, and investment here — so residents don't have to get on the 91 to find opportunity.

Quality of Life

A great city is felt in the everyday — clean streets, safe parks, housing people can afford, and public services that actually work. Our Quality of Life work keeps a close eye on the issues that affect Riverside residents most directly: neighborhood conditions, homelessness response, housing availability, infrastructure, and public safety. We don't just raise concerns — we identify specific improvements, bring ideas to city leadership, and hold decision-makers accountable for results. Because Riverside deserves more than good intentions.

Leadership Development

The future of Riverside depends on who steps up to lead it — and leadership doesn't start with a title. Our Leadership Development work focuses on identifying, encouraging, and cultivating civic leaders at every level, from city committees and nonprofit boards to elected office. We believe every community member has something unique to contribute, and our job is to help them find the path. Through candidate forums, mentorship, and our collegiate membership program, we're investing in the leaders Riverside will need — not just today, but for the next generation.
